Alex was born in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada in 1992.
At age 11 Alex was influenced by a close
friend to play guitar. Soon after Alex picked up his dad’s
Fender Stratocaster, quickly learned a few key licks and was hooked.
Over the course of the next several months Alex’s passion for playing
guitar kept him practicing daily to the music of Stevie
Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, B.B. King, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Santana,
AC/DC and Rush.
That same year Alex started to perform at local Kitchener-Waterloo “open mic” jam sessions as well as local venues and fast became a local crowd favourite. Alex has jammed with such accomplished local musicians as John McKinley, Shawn Kellerman, John Lee, Jimmy Boudreau, Dave Rodenburg, Douglas Watson, and Mike McDonald. More recently Alex and the band had the honour of opening for The Yardbirds and has also had the pleasure of performing with Steve Grisbrook , and Robbie Lane and The Disciples . Alex draws in his audiences with his smooth chording arrangements, lightning speed shredding, and heart felt approach. He also possesses a strong, passionate vocal ability. His ability to simultaneously play lead guitar and sing lead vocals while leading a band, demonstrate his potential. In December 2004 and 2005, Alex was a finalist among several highly competent guitarists with much more experience at the annual showdown competition at The Still Bar & Grill in Kitchener. In March of 2005, at the request of some local fans, the local Kitchener newspaper 'The Record' featured Alex on the front page describing him as “Little Boy Blues” the “pre-teen rocker” wowing crowds. Alex respects being in the presence of the older, more experienced musicians around him. He thrives on furthering his skills and looks forward to the opportunity to entertain audiences of all sizes.
