Kimmy, born the oldest child of four children, was three years old when she first picked up a microphone...trying to sing James Brown "Say It Loud".   At the age of 10 she was the lead singer for her family group "Kearse" which consisted of her baby sister Karmentrina Schevelle and two brothers; Kevin Scott and Keenan Wynn Kearse.  They placed in many talent shows in the DC Metropolitan Area and sang together for 7 years.

 

Kimmy grew up with the music influences of Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle and the Blue Bells, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Natalie Cole, Stephanie Mills, Anita Baker, Earth Wind and Fire, The Staple Singers, The Isley Brothers, Dianna Ross and the Supremes and the Jackson Five.  She is the writer / arranger for all of the selections on the new solo CD "I Give You Me" .
